Sustainable Alternatives was established in 2013 to identify and develop sustainable waste management solutions which benefit the communities and the environment in which they operate in. Together with its global network of waste experts and consultants, its mission is to promote proven and commercially viable technologies for sustainable green energy solutions in waste and wastewater.
Bringing together a team of international experts in waste technologies to work with local experts to provide long term solutions in waste management, at Fairway Waste Management, we facilitate technology transfer and capacity building in Sri Lanka to provide sustainable waste management solutions for the future.
Our inaugural ‘waste to energy’ project at Karadiyana landfill is the first ever large-scale waste processing facility in Sri Lanka meeting all international environmental and sustainability standards. A public private partnership, it is a part of the Waste Free Clean City concept outlined by the Waste Management Authority – Western Province, and the Government of Sri Lanka.
